Annual Report
Dear Friends and Sponsors:
I am very excited to become president of the Mon Valley Progress Council and would like to express my appreciation to past president Bill Worthington for his dedication to our organization.
For me this is a unique opportunity and a challenge. It is my first opportunity to serve in a community leadership position and, as such, I will look to all of you for support and guidance. The Mon Valley Progress Council has an important legacy as a regional business-led organization with a commitment to the Mid Mon Valley. It is a base that we will build on for our future. The theme of our 2008 annual report “Progress is … sometime a brick at a time” reflects our commitment to improve economic conditions in the Mid Mon Valley through hard work.
There are many new challenges before us. Uncertain economic times present new challenges, and sometimes opportunities, that we need to recognize and address. A major new federal focus on infrastructure and the environment by the Obama Administration will guide future actions on important Progress Council objectives including advancement of the Mon Valley/ Fayette Expressway.
